Where is Broadcast Games based?1.Broadcast Games is based everywhere, all at once. Kinda. When you span enough time zones, it starts to feel that way! From Australia to the UK and Canada, we’re a global, remote indie game studio, bringing together talent from around the world.
What is a Friendslop game?2.The term “friendslop” is slang for low-budget, low-cost cooperative games designed to be played with friends. The term became popular in 2025, but the style of game it describes predates the word (by several years), games like Among Us (2018), Lethal Company (2023), and Content Warning (2024) are examples. Friendslop games commonly feature simple objectives, chaotic or janky physics, stylised or low-fidelity graphics, and a strong focus on social interaction and humour. Roblox can be seen as an early environment for many of the design characteristics that are now commonly associated with the friendslop trend.
5.7.Where will Broadcast Games games be available?3.For now, our games will launch on Steam and will be compatible with Steam Deck. We’re focused on PC, with other platforms in the future depending on the game.
6.Does Broadcast Games use Generative A.I? 4.We are building our studio on transparency, and being human-led is our priority. What you see in the game will be human-made. Have we used ChatGPT to help summarize a meeting? Yeah, sure. Have we asked Claude to tidy something up? ...Yeah, okay. We see AI as a tool to improve production efficiencies, not as a replacement for creativity. The games, the ideas, and the creative decisions will always have humans behind them. That’s our honest answer.
What does Fun to Play. Fun To Watch. mean?Fun to Play. Fun to Watch. is our tagline, but it’s also how we think about games. We know people love playing co-op, that’s nothing new. What has changed is how much of those moments now live beyond the game itself. A chaotic moment becomes a clip on YouTube, a GIF on the discord channel, or something you’re still laughing about months later. We want to make games that understand that. Games that are just as fun to play with your friends as they are to watch.
